Besa McDonald, MA, TLLP
Orchard Lake office in Farmington Hills
Besa McDonald is a psychotherapist who specializes in working with children, parents, and young adults. She obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in psychology from Wayne State University. In the sacred space of therapy, she believes in the goodness of each and every individual who comes to her for support, and strives to make her clients feel seen, heard, and accepted for exactly who they are. She listens empathetically and seeks to understand what her client’s unique strengths and needs are in order to develop meaningful and reachable goals. As a therapist, her top priority is to help her clients experience a greater sense of safety, connection, and joy so that they can reach self-actualization; or in other words, their best self.
Besa draws on her expertise in child development, attachment theory, and conscious parenting to support her work with kids and families. She also uses an integrative, holistic approach to help individuals overcome anxiety, depression, anger problems, relationship challenges, grief, and difficult life transitions. Finally, Besa draws on her extensive experience as a school psychologist to help parents navigate the school system and advocate for their child’s educational needs.
Besa believes that the client-therapist match is essential for progress to take place. For this reason, she always encourages questions to help you make more informed decisions around therapy. She looks forward to hearing from you!
