Adowa Brashers, MA, TLLP

Ypsilanti office

It is not easy to start therapy, but everyone needs someone to talk with and motivate them as they leam and grow. As a psychotherapist, Adowa creates a safe, sound, and judgment-free environment helping you feel free to open up in honest conversations and issues that concern you. Facing mental health challenges can be difficult, but you do not have to fight them on your own. Adowa finds that therapy is most effective when we work as a team unit. She believes in building a collaborative therapy experience.

Adowa has a Masters in Clinical Psychology from The Michigan School of Psychology. She also completed a Bachelor's of Science degree from Eastern Michigan University. Most of her experience has been working with anxiety, depression, as well as alcohol and drug addictions. Adowa uses a combination of different approaches, such as Humanistic Psychotherapy, Cognitive- Behavioral and Motivational Interviewing.

She may also assign "motivation work" between sessions as a way for you to participate in your overall success in treatment outside of therapy.
